A compelling narrative can focus attention. It cannot establish an advantage on its own. My starting point is to seek quantitative evidence that helps distinguish an opportunity from an attractive story.
Evidence before conviction
Analysis can reveal patterns, test assumptions, and frame the range of possible outcomes. It can also expose the fragility of an idea. Evidence informs conviction; it does not eliminate uncertainty or guarantee that a historical relationship will persist.
Keep the question open
A potential edge is a reason to pay attention, not a license to stop questioning. Conditions change, and the strength of an advantage can change with them. The discipline is to remain responsive to evidence rather than defend a conclusion at all costs.
This is an introductory statement of philosophy, not a performance claim or a trading recommendation.
